Not everyone looks forward to going home for the holidays. Sometimes “home” is the place that breaks us, leaving lifelong wounds that can be difficult to heal. H.O.M.E. may be the place where Healing Opportunities Manifest Everywhere. This week we discuss the “initiation phase” of the Hero’s Journey and how to withstand and navigate the trials and tribulations that are necessary for learning and growth.

AFFIRMATION: I am grateful for ALL of my journey.

“There are only two lasting bequests that we can hope to give our children—roots and wings.” This week we explore the relationship between freedom and safety and how childhood conditioning sets us up for what Einstein called “the most important decision we make.”

AFFIRMATION: My home brings out the best in me and others.

What do you have in common with Harry Potter, Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, Gautama Buddha and even Jesus? You and the rest of humanity are playing out the Hero’s Journey, which starts and ends in the place we call “home.”

AFFIRMATION: I am the hero of my journey.

Like all of Life, money is a flow. “The financial system consists of the flows of capital that take place between individuals (personal finance), governments (public finance), and businesses (corporate finance). ‘Finance’ thus studies the process of channeling money from savers and investors to entities that need it.” (Wikipedia, “Finance”) So, Everyday Wonder about finances is learning about the flow and how we can participate in a healthy way. Today, we examine this flow and how it operates in our lives.

AFFIRMATION: I trust and live in the Infinite Flow of Abundant Good.

So much of our trauma around money is based in myths and old, stinkin’ thinkin’, and false beliefs. Let’s apply Everyday Wonder and compassionate curiosity to those beliefs and set ourselves free!

AFFIRMATION: I free my mind to be an open conduit of Good.

Today we’re talking about money. Raymond Charles Barker describes money as “God’s idea of circulation and activity in my world.” We apply our year long theme – Everyday Wonder – to this topic which often has an emotional charge for us – especially in a spiritual center. To allow God’s circulation, in the form of money, to happen in our life, we must love money – not in a fear-based, hoarding, clinging way- but as we love all of God. We must release old beliefs and stories that have hampered this flow. Money is as spiritual as everything else. Like everything else, it is an effect that shows up as the cause of our consciousness directs it to.

AFFIRMATION: I open fully to God’s circulation in my life as money.
